Massapequa Garden Landscape Design

April 16, 2018 by Anchor Landscape

This is a beautiful pool and garden landscape design that we completed on a Massapequa property. We created a blue stone patio and natural carney stone steps to give this south shore property a unique and peaceful look. Beautiful woodland plants were planted around the yard to to create a private and serene pool area.

Updated Massapequa Waterfront Landscape Design

March 28, 2018 by Anchor Landscape

This project was an update to a Massapequa waterfront property. This south shore waterfront property now has a Custom Techo-Bloc pool patio with custom fire pit and an EPI wood and stainless steel rail to complement the multi-level deck housing the hot tub. High stress plantings suitable for waterfront environments were used to fill out the property. We also included an outdoor Barbecue with Lynx stainless products. With all the new addition the property is now perfect for the client to enjoy the beautiful views of their Massapequa waterfront property.

Landscape Design and Development in Massapequa

March 12, 2016 by Anchor Landscape

In this project we were repairing damage from Super Storm Sandy In Massapequa, Long Island. Super Storm Sandy has left alot of damage to Massapequa landscapes. This project required us to repair salt damaged 100 year old spruces (Picea). The salt damage had left up to 80% of the tree burned back with little hope to regenerate new growth. Because the trees were to damaged we had to move forward with the removal of damaged landscape. After the removal we had to plant and development more sustainable landscape on this property.

Redevelopment of Massapequa Landscapes

March 3, 2015 by Anchor Landscape

Anchor landscape was established in 1978 in the town of Massapequa NY on the South Shore of Long Island. Remaining a resident of Massapequa thru the years I have always enjoyed developing new landscapes in my home town of Massapequa. Being one of the hardest hit communites from super storm Sandy Massapequa residents have been redeveloping more sustainable landscapes. With the changes in elevations of renovated homes the new landscapes have proved to be challenging to homeowners. We are specialists in creative front entries, gardens and landscape design that these new elevations require. Pictured (in before and after photos) is a fall project on the Nassau Shore in Massapequa, this is one such project that required new elevations. The homeowners are both teachers, one a earth science teacher who loves rock and boulders. The use of natural rock and boulders is one option to establish new elevations. As the Massapequa shoreline slowly redevelops, Anchor Landscape can help you develop new elevations and natural sustainable landscapes that are more super storm tolerant.
Thank you again Mr. & Mrs. D for being so kind to my crew. Gary

Re Landscaping The South Shore of Long Island

February 1, 2015 by Anchor Landscape

Super Storm Sandy took its toll on the residential South Shore of Long Island in 2012. Damage to hardscapes and plantings on South Shore towns was enormous.

Based on the south shore of Long Island for over 35 years, Anchor Landscape Inc. has been developing properties to be more sustainable to the harsh conditions the shoreline can produce. Wind, Sun and Salt are three of the most destructive elements pounding the South Shore. Utilizing high quality and more tolerant products for the hardscapes and plantings is the key.

With the devastation of the storm came a need rebuild at new elevations for shoreline homes, Amityville, Massapequa, Babylon, Lindenhurst & West Islip are included in the hardest hit areas. Home elevations are now as high as 7′ above grade with some 16 steps to even reach the front door. While this is a necessary change, landscape must now be developed to soften the look of these structures.

Anchor Landscape Inc. of Massapequa has been creating unique masonry & carpentry designs to create beautiful entry’s, incorporating plantings to accommodate the new Landscape challenges homeowners are facing with these new elevations. The use of high stress tolerant plants such as , juniper, spruce and pine will also help develop a more sustainable South Shore.
